Waffle Baby Pullover

Cuddly simple texture makes this baby sweater cozy to wear and relaxing to crochet.  Minimal shaping makes the sweater a great one for first time garment makers!

Materials

Yarn:

Mission Falls 1824 Wool (CYCA #4), 100% Superwash Merino Wool, 82yds/ 50g:

MC:  Surf, 6 (7, 9) balls

CC1:  Squash, 1 ball

CC2:  Oatmeal, 1 ball

Hook: 

I/9 (5.5mm) hk or hk needed to obtain gauge

Notions:

Blocking pins and spray bottle

 Yarn needle

4 (5, 5 1/2)” sport zipper

Matching sewing thread and needle

Stitches Used:

ch     Chain

sl st   Slip Stitch

sc      Single Crochet

sk      Skip

hdc   Half Double Crochet

t-ch   Turning Chain

Gauge:

15 hdc x 10 rows= 4” x 4” in waffle stitch pattern

Sizes:

Pullover is sized for 12mth, 24mth, 4yr.  Chest circumference is 24”, 26.5”, 29”.  Shown in 24mth size.

Notes:

When substituting yarns be sure not to use a heavy yarn (like cotton, bamboo, or silk) or the pullover will hang wrong.  Good substitutes to the wool are acrylic or wool blends.  Some recommended brands: Cascade Yarns Cash Vero Aran, Valley Yarns Valley Superwash, Berroco Comfort, and Berroco Vintage.
