Ridge Swing In Pictures

The Ridge Swing Cardigan in Interweave Crochet was on of my favorite projects to crochet to date. It was a simple stitch pattern that flew for me. Since I enjoyed it so much, I of course diagrammed a number of the shaping and such in the body and sleeves. Sometimes diagrams can't be included in the printed publication if the pattern is really long. And you know me, I'm wordy and chatty, so these diagrams just didn't make the cut. So here they are for you. Keep in mind they really need to be used with the pattern in the magazine. Hope they help! (click to enlarge)

stitch pattern
This also makes really great washcloths. I made a number of them from kitchen cotton as gifts. (just in case you need a quick hostess gift for thanksgiving)

armhole shaping
Keep in mind that the XS size does not have a indentation before the shaping, so definitely check out the pattern for directions.

shoulder and neck shaping
The shaping at the shoulder is really subtle, so just keep an eye on where each row ends.

cap sleeve shaping

Errata: On pg 16, Right Front Panel, Armhole Shaping after row 4(6,6,6,8,10), Rep last 2 rows 7(7, 8, 8, 9, 9) times not Rows 1-2 as written.

Sure, No Problem.

When you are joining the 2 corners, you will insert your hook into the last st on the first corner, yo, pull up a loop, insert your hook into the ch on the second corner, yo pull up a loop, insert your hook into the next st of the same corner, yo, pull up a loop. Yo, pull through all loops on the hook.

so that's the sc3tog over the last st, ch1, and first st.
