Compliments Collection
Bijou Basin Ranch just released a new booklet, Compliments Collection, by the amazing Kristin Omdahl. It is a collection of 13 accessory designs (6 are crochet, 7 are knit). All designs use between 1-3 hanks of the lovely Bijou Basin Yarn. (If you have not worked with it, it is quite luxurious. If you need to make a truly special gift, it is the yarn to look at. Plus, it is really warm, so even a super lacy scarf will keep your neck nice and toasty.)
I love looking at yarn company pattern booklets. They have a totally different focus then books or magazines. Their main focus is to show how to use their yarn to get fabulous results. Meaning they can go crazy on other aspects if they want. I loved to see that Kristin went for it with these. She uses these scarves, hats, and shawls to teach fun crochet and knitting techniques. Every project has a twist to the craft that is unique yet so enjoyable to learn. There are diagrams and charts to help you achieve the best projects. You can see all the projects over at Ravelry.
Bijou Basin is graciously giving away one e-version of the booklet away. Leave a comment (or email, twitter, facebook, ravelry) by tonight at midnight and I will pick a winner tomorrow morning.
