Day 5 Stop: Vickie Howell

Today's tour stop is with the ultimate working crafty mom, Vickie Howell. You can her thoughts on the encyclopedia and see a swatch in her new yarn, Sheepish.

Sheepish is an acrylic wool blend yarn. It gives great stitch definition since it is a single ply with a shiny sheen. You can see a few of my swatches when I was using it for a pattern here.

Have you seen the yarn in your local hobby and craft store (Like Micheals)? What would you love to see made with this yarn?

Answer either of the above questions (by email to me, or here in the comments) by Wednesday at noon, EST; and I will enter you to win a copy of the book. I will send all the answers to Vickie, I know she loves hearing what you think as much as I do. I will pick the winner at random and have Wiley send you out a copy of the book. Make sure you leave a way for me to get a hold of you, email is best.

I've yet to see Sheepish at either Michael's or AC Moore (both of which I frequent :), but it looks amazing! Such gorgeous colors. From the look, it reminds me a lot of Full'o'Sheep, which I made a cowl from last winter -- it is super soft & super warm <3

I love this yarn! I have used it and have 4 colors in my stash! But, I have yet to see it at the store. I haven't designed one yet, but I would love this as a dressy top for special occasions since it has that great shine to it! And I really want your book!

I love the rich colors of the Sheep(ish) yarn. I would like to see a vest or short-sleeved sweater with different tones of this yarn.

I'm in love with your book...and I haven't even gotten my sticky little fingers on it yet!

Vickie Howell's post was lovely. Her photo of the double crochet group using the sheep(ish) was FANTASTIC...and I told her so.

I have not see this yarn at the store...but I'm generally on the look out for specific colors for projects and generally skip over the label (but I'll be on the lookout, now!)

Based on your description of it...I think I would make bright colored toys (with and without faux metal parts). Ok...I'm a bit bias. I love toys. And my style is realistic. I'm feeling it!

I have seen this yarn at Joann's. The colors are vibrant. I'd love to see a pattern of mitre squares, such as a tote bag or purse made with this yarn.

I wonder if a skirt can be made using Sheepish. I have seen this yarn line in store. I love the fun colors.

I think I've seen Sheep(ish) floating around and some of my local stores. I know I just saw it in Herrschnerr's catalog and made a vow to buy a lot once Christmas over with and I'm done making projects... or maybe I'll have to find some projects I can use it for ;)

I love wool/acrylic blends because 100% wool makes my skin itch, but I love how it looks. These blends are a great way for someone with me to indulge. From the pictures I've seen, I really love the yarn's texture and can't wait to get my hands on it!

My favorite items to make are hats and scarves, so I'm sure I'll put it good use with those.

I haven't seen Sheepish yet. I would love to use some of that to make my daughter a sweater. I already have a pattern picked out - just waiting to finish another project.

I've only seen Sheepish on the internet, but I enjoyed seeing the swatches made with it during the Sheepish blog tour.

I think Sheepish would make an absolutely beautiful motif afghan. There are simply so many great colors, and for me, it's easier to use lots of color on afghan projects than on garments. I

I have definitely seen Sheepish in my local store. I haven't had a chance to craft with it yet but I definitely look forward to it!

I've seen the yarn at JoAnn's. I think a log cabin afghan would be beautiful with all the different colors.
