Project to Take Flight

Instead of spending another night in front of my computer, going over and over my class agendas for this weekend; I decided to chill a bit. And nothing relaxes me more then a new design.

Since I am a bit smitten with top down designs lately, I decided the next project I would work on would be one. I also wanted to finally do a design that would be for me, inspired and fit me alone. Now, you might think all my designs are something I would wear; and that's true if I could morph my body each time. Even though I like everything I design, it 9 times out of 10 is not made for my body time. Not this time.

This time, I going for a garment that compliments me, and something that will work with my Fall wardrobe. Since I have been obsessed with wearing lots of colors lately, it is going to be colorful. The main body will match my new shoes, while the yoke will be very playful. You can see my first attempt to the right. I changed my method a bit, tightened up the neck, and now I'm flying.

I am hoping to finish the colorwork part before my flight on Thursday, so that I'll only have the purple to work on while we travel. It will be the perfect project, since I can keep trying it on to get the exact fit I want. WooHoo- very excited about this one!

I can't wait to see this. I've done raglans in knit for years, but only one in crochet.

I'm trying to sell the knitters I know on the beauty of crocheted sweaters.

Love this idea! Very much like a granny fair-isle! Excellent design. I like it so much, I featured it on MY blog!
