The concept behind the book is luxurious fibers and sexy garments. The publisher wants to shoot it very Vogue- like in dreamy scenes and sexy models. It should be really cool. I was lucky enough to have 2 designs excepted for the book, this being one of them.
The sweater is made from Lorna's Laces, Angel. Angel is an angora blend. Super soft and a joy to work with. Surprisingly bouncing and very elastic. Light as a feather. I kinda was surprised how much fun it was to crochet with. Its definitely the luxury that won me over.
The sweater has a convertible cowl neck into off the shoulder neckline, 3/4 length sleeves, and waist and bust shaping. Suzie was a poor model for the cowl since she has no arms, but we kept on.
I'm pretty happy with the outcome. My inspiration was ski bunnies from bad 80's movies. I think I captured (in hopefully not the cheesy way) the sensual style and sensual fiber of the sweater a proud ski bunny would wear. I had quite a few set-backs, like running out of yarn- big oops. And totally forgetting how long a cowl really is when you want it to hang off the shoulder. Still I think its pretty cute, and I am happy that it came together in the end.

It looks awesome--especially in the snow!
Thank you!
My neighbors must have thought I totally lost my mind as I was trekking thru our 12 inches or so of snow with suzie in one hand and a table in the other. TO take a photo of a sweater. Oh well, I'm proud to wave my crochet freak flag.
Beautiful sweater and terrific picture!
