Book Review: Crochet Boutique

Crochet Boutique: 30 Simple, Stylish Hats, Bags, and Accessories is a collection from Rachael Oglesby.  As true to the title it is a collection of simple projects.  What I love about the book is that even though these are simple projects they are completely on trend.  There is nothing worse then a quick project that you can't do anything with.  These are all fashionable wearable projects that you can complete quickly.  A few of my favorites are on the side.  These are ones that I could easily see myself wearing.  The projects are written with clear directions, there are no diagrams or illustrations, but I think everything you can accomplish with out those.

Leave a comment on the blog (or email or tweet me) about your favorite simple useful project.  I will pick a winner out of the entries by Tuesday and send you the book as a prize.

I do like the bubble beret :) But the choice was difficult because everything is really charming.

This book is definitely on my wish list. My first project would be the Cuddle Cowl.

The Cuddle Cowl was one of the ones that I picked out as a favorite when I did my review as well. I also liked the Shoreline cowl, which isn't a surprise since I've been in such a crochet cowl mood lately. I loved that this book had soooo many cowls and scarves in it. :)

I love the bow pin too, it looks like something that can go in a lot of places! Other useful projects I like are little flat circle scrubbies (also good for getting bowls out of the microwave!) and short scarves made from single balls of sock yarn. :)

The cowl is my favorite - looks simple and very useful with winter on the way.

My favourite simple but useful projects are fingerless mitts because they keep the cold air out of my coat sleeves!

I love the Floppy Summer Hat and the Sunburst Beret in this book!

My current "go to" quick project now is the Elise Shawl by Evan Pelvinski. I've finally memorized the pattern and can whip it out in a couple of hours.

My favorite simple but useful projects are dishcloths and washcloths. Cowls are great too.

My favorite simple but useful project would currently be coasters. Well that is what I call them at least. I like to take different motifs that I find and fall in love with and make them as coasters around the house. I have all of the pretty motifs without having to make a full blanket. Thanks for the chance to win, this looks like a great book!

I've got this book on my wish list. I seem to make a lot of hats, so this book would be very useful.

I am not much into hats, but that Cuddle Cowl is screaming my name! I am also on the hunt for a new purse/bag pattern!

I guess my favorite useful projects are afghans - they're not small, but at least in our house we can always use more blankets. (cnuland on Rav)

I look at this book each time I'm in Barnes and noble and each project is so simple and yet so stylish I can't pick.

I love to make beanies. Once you have a basic pattern you love you can jazz them up any way you want to.

I love making hats. I want to make them in different styles and colors. They tend to be very simple to make.
