TNNA: Gift for you

Now for the exciting news for you guys!

On teardown day, it is a chaos of fiber and yarn literally in some cases flying through the air.

The Louet booth was next to our Stitch Coop Booth, and they had a big pile of fiber that they just could not pack to go home with. So they asked us if we could use it. Uh, yeah. Whatever the ladies did not want I picked up for you!

I'm opening up this fiber to two lucky blog readers (2 bags to one and 3 to the other- the green is only half full). Leave a comment here (or on Ravelry) or email me with what you like to spin and then crochet. I'll choose the winners at random next Thursday, so check back to see if you won. Just make sure if you leave a comment, I have a way of contacting you (email or Rav name).

What all is there? A bag of White Merino Top, a bag of Superwash Wool, a bag of Sea Foam Green in Merino, and a bags of blue and black wool nepps.

Good luck! I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I'm scheduled to learn to spin within the next two months. I'm excited because I really want to learn to spin DK weight. I would then want to use my handspun to make shawls or hats (it's too warm down here to make a ton of scarves).

I've been interested in learning to spin for some time now. Right now I am on a jacket kick, especially Doris Chan patterns. But I make all birthday and Christmas gifts so I make different things all the time. My Ravelry name is Jain. Thanks for doing a give-away!

Spinning, I spin on spindles and love to spin quite thin. Crochet is the one place I like to do more lacy things and I am a motif/square person a lot of the time.

Yum! I'd really like to try drafting roving and then crocheting from that! But what to make? Maybe an adorable hat or a purse? Something felted, perhaps?

Of course this would give me the perfect excuse to buy a pretty drop spindle from MV Fiber Farm!

Started reading your blog because I am a fellow gemini and live in ohio also. I have just starting spinning and finally spun some usable yarn. Going to crochet a scarf and then on to the next project. Beautiful fibers would love to win them!!!

Oooohhhh, very nice giveaway. I'm getting a drop spindle soon because I've been wanting to learn how to spin. I think I will spinning scarfs with my first yarns, as they are more conducive to the begginer's uneven spinning.

whoo hoo! sounds yummy...i'm just learning to spin. I'm crocheting together some of my Aunt's crocheted flowers that she did a long time ago - want to make her something from it -she's in a nursing home now..

I don't spin, but I wonder if you could crochet with roving? I love to crochet baby sweaters, dishcloths, and sweaters for myself. Looks like you had fun.

One day I am going to be a fiber store owner in my little corner of the suburbs, and I will be able to go to TNNA. Until then, I will live vicariously through your blog and your tweets. :) I hope I win! :D

Ooooh - this looks beautiful! I haven't learned how to spin yet, but this would be the perfect incentive to do so. We travel the country in our RV & I am constantly crocheting. Right now, I'm putting the finishing touches on a set of christening gowns for twins (along with the blanket, caps, etc.)

I think I'd want to spin up the right yarn to crochet this. I love the pattern and would be even happier if I could make it from scratch.

I would love to make a cute little jacket. Since I often take breaks during projects, I should be able to start this summer and finish in time for "colder" weather. Not that we have much in TX!

Love to spin merino to dk weight. Just learned actually. Then I like to crochet everything under the sun, especially wrist warmers since my wrists are always so cold. I also love to make my cat blankets. he loves to sink his toes into the stitches.

What a nice thing to do for us! Well, since I want to learn to spin, and I am really into dyeing right now, I'd probably want to dye the wool, then spin it, and depending on the final weight, make a shawl or wrap. Those have been fun lately! Good luck, everyone!

I just recently learned how to spin and I've been wanting to make a new shawl. This fiber would be the perfect opportunity!

I like to spin fingering-sport weight, and I've crocheted several projects from my handspun, including Doris Chan's Galena, and a shawl of my own design. Right now I'm spinning some cashmere and angora which I plan to crochet into a top-down cardigan, and a merino-tussah blend, but I haven't decided what that will be. If I am lucky enough to win, I will just have to turn the finished product into one of your designs!

I would love to spin some of the yarn and try corespinning with it. I've been looking into it. I'd love to crochet some trim for a felted purse with the corespun yarn.

I'm a pretty new spinner, but I'd love to play with some of that fiber. I'd probably make up a hat or two or maybe some mittens for the winter.

If I get really lucky maybe I can spin up enough to crochet a top-down sweater. No pattern in mind yet, but I've really been drawn to the top-down concept lately.

I'm a very new spinner working on spindles (um, I may have acquired a baker's dozen in just two months...) So far I've been swatching, but now have fiber to spin for a shawl! Now, I have two fibery addictions: crochet and spinning. =-)

I'm a new spinner but it would be nice to try this lovely fiber. I'm trying to get better at fine weight handspun to make a shawl.

I've been spinning for about 3 years and find everything I spin a new experience. Would love to dye it orange and make the cute top on the July/August Crochet Today.

Very exciting. I don't spin ... yet. But I've been wanting some fibre for felting and making scarves and bags. If I do learn to spin, I'd crochet hats and slippers.

I have only recently begun to spin. I have both a drop spindle and a wheel, but I find I have much more control with the drop spindle. I love spinning alpaca/merino blend...how utterly wonderful to handle and it spins up so soft and squeezable! I made a hat with one and I am considering making lovely fingerless gloves with the other. Hooks or needles, I do not care, I love all things fiber.

God Bless You

Thank you for having a fiber give away! I usually end up crocheting presents out of my fiber. I have crocheted shawls, ponchos, purses, scarves, hats, baby clothes, blankies, cat beds, and toys out of handspun. My ravelry name is Fool4fiber and my email addy is shauser at sc dot rr dot com.

I have just purchased my first spindle and am having a ball with it. I learned to crochet from my grandmother and often make household items and embelishments for my clothing -- it's way too much fun. Thanks for your great designs.
