Lots of new pretties

If you have been following my crazy twitter feed, sorry! You know first hand how crazy my work life has been. Basically, to get all these books and work finished, I am working every hour of the day (either writing, drawing, crocheting, or changing diapers) stopping to sleep for 4 or 5 hours, then back at it again. Not exactly healthy. But necessary since our Cincinnati house has still not sold, and it is slowly killing us. That's why I adore crochet so much! Who knew my little hobby would save us in the end, right? Crazy.

Anyway, I have a bunch of fun stuff I want to show you from TNNA, but I think that will have to wait a little bit till I finally unpack. (Yes, it has been a week today since I have been back.) But I do have one new design that was published while I was away.

This scarf is published in Inside Crochet Issue 14 that is out now. It is a partial motif design which means that you crochet one have of a motif, then while you are crocheting the next one you are also joining it to the last. (you can see it easier in the photo below) It grows the project without having any ends to weave in and still giving a motif look. The yarn is just lovely, and the project quickly flew off my hooks with it. I love the bright color to break up all the gray of winter.

Ok, enough procrastinating for me. Back to work!

What day is it?

The holidays were a total whirlwind for us as they always are. I turn into quite the grinch and start to count down until they are over, so we can catch our breath again. Big surprise that we overload ourselves.

Sometime in that whirlwind, I got to sew in the zipper for this great project that Megan crocheted not once but twice for me! Which was nice to get off the work table and shipped to the publisher.

I have quite the work load going on around here with 3 books I am juggling and little CJ. I am one exhausted mom thats for sure. To add to the crazy, I fly out to Long Beach on Friday till Tuesday for TNNA. I will be teaching classes and doing a book signing. But instead of getting to catch up with colleagues, I will be locking myself in my hotel room as much as I can feverishly working away on my next book deadline. Which is in less then 2 weeks, ouf! If you are one of the students taking my classes in CA, I am apologizing now for any yawning I will be doing in class. So unprofessional I know, but totally unavoidable. (Thank goodness for the time change with the 8am classes!)

I hope you all had great holidays and got to crochet or craft a bunch!
